(Sorry for all these questions, but I’ve never had more than one HDD with on partition internally in any of the macs we’ve had since we had to switch for my wife’s video editing about 6 years ago.)ħ) Will the optical drive work if you just plug it in externally with a sata to usb cable? Do you provide one with the DD? And if not, I have a Seagate go-flex portable (2.5″) external drive. Macintosh HD, if it’s going to have the OS and Apps on it? Will installs automatically look for that HD if you have two internals? Dropbox) on the SSD but my huge Dropbox folder on the old (other, non SSD) drive?Ħ) Does the SSD have to have the same name – i.e. Does that have to be on the same HDD as the OS and/or the APPLICATIONS folder? So do I have to have just one APPLICATIONS folder, and does it have to be on the same HDD as the OS? Do apps have to be in the APPLICATIONS folder to work? (Or could I have the OS and the APPLICATIONS folder – just containing my most important apps – on the SSD, and have another folder – OLD DRIVE APPS – on the 2nd, normal old HDD, and install other, less important apps to that?

(On a pc, you could install software to any hdd.
